Whether you have a sweet tooth or love savory flavors (or both!), you’ll find a new favorite taste sensation at this Saturday’s Big Island Chocolate Festival gala. Festive attire and empty bellies are recommended because we have more than 30 savory or sweet options, including wine, beer and specialty cocktail booths at this 6th annual event. Your ticket gets you unlimited access to all of the booths. Don’t be shy: going back for seconds and thirds and fourths are fully expected. Your favorite chefs from Huggo’s and Huggo’s on the Rocks, The Fish Hopper, Cafe Pesto, Hilo Sharks Chocolate, Original Hawaiian Chocolate Factory, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Mauna Kea, Padovani Chocolates, Cocoa Outlet / The Chocolate Guy and more will be serving up their unique and tasty dishes. What else? Our popular 4 ft chocolate fountain (a must every year!), fun photobooth with props, chocolate tattoos, dancing to the music of DJ EzE, and even a contest to win tickets to next year’s event.
Merrie Monarch Festival
The Merrie Monarch Festival runs April 16-22, 2017. The first 4 days consist of free, non-competition events. This is the Big Islands biggest Hula competition that honors the Hawaiian culture. Please visit the official website for more information. Activities are on the Hilo side of the Island.
22th Annual Huggo's Wahine Fishing Tournament
We kick of the Wahine Tournament on Saturday, July 29th.
The 22nd Annual Huggo’s Wahine Fishing Tournament 2017 will be held in Kailua-Kona Hawaii, Saturday July 29, 2017. This fun-filled fishing tournament, with prizes for the best decorated boat and best costumed team, benefits Family Support Hawaii (FSH), formally Family Support Services of West Hawaii. In addition to the prizes for best decorated boat and best costumed team, the all-women anglers compete for cash prizes which are awarded to the teams with the biggest marlin/billfish.
